How to Report Fraud to Blackcat

Why this matters

Reporting fraud quickly helps us act on your case and protect other users from the same scam. Whether you've lost money, spotted something suspicious, or received a fake message pretending to be us, telling us matters. This article explains how to report, what to include, and what happens next.

How to reach us

If you've lost access to your account, contact us through the app on another device or via our official channels so we can verify your identity and help.

When to report

Report as soon as possible if you:

  • Sent money to someone you now think is a fraudster.

  • Shared card details, a password, or a verification code.

  • Notice transactions or changes you didn't make.

  • Received a suspicious message claiming to be Blackcat.

  • Aren't sure whether a message or request is genuine — it's always fine to check.

Speed matters most when money has moved — contact us immediately rather than waiting.

What to include

To help us act quickly, share what you can:

  • What happened and when.

  • Any payment details — amount, recipient, date and time.

  • The scammer's contact details — phone numbers, email addresses, usernames, links.

  • Screenshots of messages, emails, or websites involved.

  • What information you shared, if any.

Don't worry if you don't have everything — tell us what you know and we'll guide you.

Checking whether a message is really from us

The support chat is two-way, so you can come to us first. If you receive an email, text, or DM claiming to be Blackcat and you're unsure:

  1. Don't reply or click any links.

  2. Open the support chat in the Blackcat or Blackcatcard app.

  3. Send a screenshot or the text of the message.

  4. Our agents will confirm whether it's genuine and advise you what to do.

What happens after you report

  • We'll help secure your account and take appropriate action on suspicious activity.

  • We may ask a few questions to understand and verify what happened.

  • Your report helps us warn and protect other users and improve our defences.

Reporting beyond Blackcat

For some cases — especially where you've lost money — it can also be worth reporting to the police or your national fraud or consumer-protection authority. This helps create an official record and supports wider action against fraudsters.
